The Pokemon Company has announced the upcoming release of 'Triumphant Light,' a new booster pack for the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket mobile app.  Following closely on the heels of the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, Triumphant Light is set to launch on February 28, 2025, just one day after the annual Pokemon Presents livestream.

This year's Pokemon Presents, celebrating the 29th anniversary of the franchise, revealed key details about the expansion.  The spotlight shines brightly on Arceus EX, a colorless card poised to become a cornerstone of competitive decks.  Arceus EX boasts 'Fabled Luster,' a unique ability granting immunity to special conditions.

The arrival of Triumphant Light brings both exciting opportunities and potential challenges for competitive players. The power shift introduced by Arceus EX and its supporting cards is likely to reshape the meta-game significantly.

A dedicated trailer for Triumphant Light showcased several new cards and their abilities.  Many of these abilities synergize with Arceus EX, gaining additional effects when it's in play.  These effects include boosting friendly attack power, reducing enemy attack power, dealing direct damage, lowering energy costs, and eliminating retreat costs.

The return of ranked PvP battles at the end of March adds another layer of excitement.  This gives players ample time to experiment with the new cards and build decks around Arceus EX before diving back into competitive play. A period of increased odds for pulling rare cards (three diamond rarity or higher) until April 30, 2025, further incentivizes players to explore the new expansion.
