The Dawn of the Hunt update launched on April 4, marking version 0.2.0 of the action RPG. While introducing exciting new content like the Huntress Class, five additional Ascendancy Classes, 25 new skills, and over 100 Support Gems, some changes have proven controversial among the player base.

The player community's reaction to Dawn of the Hunt has significantly impacted the game's Steam ratings. As of April 10, recent reviews have fallen below the "Mostly Negative" threshold based on nearly 12,000 user evaluations. While lifetime reviews maintain a "Mostly Positive" standing, the overall recommendation rate has dropped to 73.13%, barely above the "Mixed" classification. The review campaign peaked on April 7 with over 2,300 negative reviews submitted in a single day before gradually subsiding.

Grinding Gear Games has responded to the community feedback, promising immediate adjustments. The 0.2.0e update scheduled for April 11 (3pm PDT / 6pm EDT / 10pm CET) will implement several crucial changes:

• Reduced monster movement speed to address relentless pursuit complaints
• Nerfs to challenging bosses like Uxmal and Viper Napuatzi
• Revised minion revive timers to prevent complete momentum loss

These modifications aim to create a more balanced gameplay experience while maintaining the game's signature challenge.

Interestingly, the review backlash appears concentrated on the Steam version. The Xbox edition maintains a 3.4-star rating on the Microsoft Store, while the PlayStation version fares better with 4.25 stars on the PS Store as of April 10.
