Rumors of a Xenoblade Chronicles X port to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 are swirling following the discovery of a hidden 60 frames-per-second (FPS) mode within the game's code.

Renowned modder MasaGrator brought this revelation to light on Twitter, confirming the existence of this dormant 60FPS mode within the game's executable file.  Currently, activating this mode leads to various in-game glitches, rendering it unusable.

While the possibility remains that this mode is a developer oversight, the more compelling theory suggests it's a forward-thinking inclusion designed to leverage the increased power of the rumored Switch 2, enabling a smoother 60FPS gameplay experience on the new hardware. This points to a potential future port or update optimized for the next-generation console.

MasaGrator also provided insights into the current resolution of Xenoblade Chronicles X.  In handheld mode, the game utilizes dynamic resolution scaling ranging from 504p to 720p.  When docked, the resolution increases, fluctuating between 760p and 1080p.
