A recent Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 update has sparked excitement among skateboarding fans, hinting at a potential revival of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series. The Season 2 Reloaded update for the game includes a remastered skate park map, "Grind," which features the Tony Hawk's logo alongside the date March 4, 2025. This easter egg suggests a major announcement concerning the franchise is imminent.

The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series has a rich history, starting with the original Pro Skater in 1999 and continuing through numerous sequels and spin-offs, including the well-received remakes of Pro Skater 1 and 2 in 2020.  With Activision-Blizzard currently holding the rights to the IP, fans have been eager for news about a new title or further remasters.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 Reloaded update, released on February 20th, brought a wealth of new content, including a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover and new game modes. However, the unexpected Tony Hawk's easter egg in the "Grind" map caught the gaming community by surprise.

While Activision owns both the Call of Duty and Tony Hawk's franchises, the crossover still surprised many.  The easter egg, however, aligns with recent rumors surrounding the skateboarding series. Earlier, professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones hinted at his involvement in a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater remaster. Given the successful remakes of the first two games, speculation points towards Pro Skater 3 and 4 being the next in line for a similar treatment.

Further fueling anticipation, Tony Hawk himself marked the 25th anniversary of Pro Skater with a cryptic message on Instagram, acknowledging the franchise's impact on skateboarding culture and alluding to a future for the series without revealing specific details.

All signs point to March 4, 2025, as the day fans finally learn what the future holds for the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise. After the numerous teases and rumors, the anticipation is reaching fever pitch.
