Ubisoft has surprised fans with the launch of a closed beta for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege X, providing a sneak peek at the significant changes coming to the popular tactical shooter.  This limited-time test offers players a chance to experience one of the biggest additions to the game, though accessing the beta requires a few steps.

As Rainbow Six Siege approaches its tenth anniversary in December 2025, Ubisoft Montreal has been hinting at a major evolution for the game.  This transformative update, officially revealed as Rainbow Six Siege X, promises to reshape the tactical shooter landscape.

Rainbow Six Siege Year 10 Season 1 details have also been unveiled, highlighting the key content players can anticipate with this substantial update.  Coinciding with the announcement, the Rainbow Six Siege X closed beta went live on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The update is also planned for PS4, Xbox One, and Amazon Luna, though last-gen consoles will miss out on the new Dual Front mode.

Dual Front, a leaked 6v6 mode, is described as a permanent and evolving addition to Rainbow Six Siege X and is the highlight of the closed beta.  This mode challenges players to capture three enemy sectors while defending their own on a brand-new map called District.

Accessing the Rainbow Six Siege X closed beta is currently only possible through Twitch Drops.  Players must watch the game's latest showcase, either on the official Twitch channel or through partnered streamers.  Early reports suggest watching approximately 30 minutes of participating Rainbow Six Siege X streams will qualify viewers for a beta invite.

Upon qualifying, Twitch will notify players, who can then claim their invite via the Twitch Inventory page. This triggers an automated email containing the beta code and platform-specific redemption instructions.

Playing the current Rainbow Six Siege is not necessary to participate in the R6 Siege X closed beta.  The beta grants access to 35 Rainbow Six Siege X operators.  This suggests the game may transition to a free-to-play model with the update, though Ranked and Siege Cup modes are expected to remain premium features.

The closed beta runs until March 19th, with the full Rainbow Six Siege X release scheduled for June 10th internationally.  While Ubisoft has hinted at a possible open beta in the spring, no official confirmation has been given.
