The highly successful medieval strategy game, Manor Lords, is poised for a significant update. Developer Slavic Magic has teased exciting changes coming soon, promising a richer and more engaging experience for players.

Since its early access release in April 2024, Manor Lords has captivated over a million players within the first 24 hours.  The game's unique blend of city-building, large-scale tactical battles, and a detailed economic system, all set within a beautifully rendered medieval world, has garnered significant praise. The development team has consistently delivered updates, building on the game’s solid foundation.

A recent Steam post from the developers unveiled some of the key features of the next update.  A new playable map, Devil's Hill, is set to be introduced, featuring a prominent peak that will undoubtedly play a key role in strategic gameplay.  The surrounding regions are designed around this central feature, and the developers are even exploring a game mode centered around contesting valuable resources on the hill, adding another layer of competitive gameplay.

Enhancements are also coming to the Castle Planner, offering players greater customization options. Individual modules and walls can be adjusted, and the addition of platforms with battlements will allow for more complex and defensible fortifications.

A major focus of the update is a complete overhaul of the progression system.  Addressing player feedback regarding the current system's lack of immersion, the developers are actively prototyping new designs.  Balancing historical accuracy, realism, and engaging gameplay is a key challenge, but the team is committed to creating a more rewarding and intuitive progression system.

Further improvements are planned, including enhancements to the AI of opposing towns, adding more depth and challenge to the strategic layer of the game. While the developers remain tight-lipped on specific details, the next update promises substantial improvements across multiple areas.
