The Pokémon Day festivities brought a wealth of new information about Pokémon Legends: Z-A, including a hidden detail: a surprisingly large map of a reimagined Kalos City.

It appears the entirety of Pokémon Legends: Z-A takes place in Kalos City, set in a time period following the events of Pokémon X and Y. Unlike Pokémon Legends: Arceus, this game thrusts us into the future, not the past.

The map depicts the city divided into circular sections, almost like slices of a pizza, with Prism Tower situated at the center. Prism Tower originally served as the fifth gym in Pokémon X and Y. The city is described as undergoing “an urban redevelopment project with the aim of creating a city where humans and Pokémon can call home.”

Wild areas have been incorporated throughout the city, where Pokémon have been reintroduced and now roam freely, waiting to be caught.  This change should also make Shiny hunting considerably easier, as Pokémon now appear to briefly become stunned when their health is depleted, rather than instantly disappearing upon defeat as in previous games.
