Core Keeper's Massive 'Bags & Blasts' Update Introduces New Boss, Biome, and Inventory System
2025-03-14 03:00:50Fireshine Games and Pugstorm have unleashed the largest update for Core Keeper since its official launch: 'Bags & Blasts'. This significant update introduces one of the game's most formidable bosses, alongside a plethora of new content ranging from enemies and a sub-biome to bombs, equipment, and a much-requested inventory system.
Core Keeper, a popular sandbox survival game playable solo or with up to eight players online, has seen tremendous success since its 1.0 release, amassing over 3 million players. Available on PC and all modern consoles, the game continues to evolve with this major content drop.
The 'Bags & Blasts' update introduces Nimruza, the Queen of the Burrowed Sands, as a challenging new boss encounter within the Desert of Beginnings biome. Players will also face new enemies and variations of existing ones in Nimruza's dungeon. This biome also receives a refreshing new sub-biome known as the Oasis.
Gearing up for these new challenges, players will discover 32 new pieces of equipment, including accessories, weapons, and unique armor sets. True to its name, 'Bags & Blasts' introduces four new bombs and grenades, along with a new Explosive skill tree containing eight new skills to maximize their destructive potential.
Animal husbandry enthusiasts will find a new breed of cattle called Drohmble in the Desert of Beginnings, as well as a new pet, the Arcane Symbiote. The pet system itself has been revamped, making pets more aggressive and proactive in combat.
Addressing player feedback, the update introduces a crucial inventory management improvement: the pouch system. This system provides dedicated storage for resources like ores and seeds, separating them from the main inventory and reducing clutter. This alleviates inventory management woes and frees up space for exploration and treasure hunting.
Rounding out the update are new tutorial tooltips for new players, adjustments to Mage and Warlock gameplay, and a comprehensive bug fix pass. The developers have also confirmed that this is just the beginning, with more substantial updates planned based on community input.
