PlayStation Plus to Lose Major Titles in March 2025 Update

PlayStation Plus subscribers are about to see a shake-up in their game library.  On March 18, 2025, ten games will be removed from the Extra and Premium tiers' Game Catalog, including some notable heavy hitters.

Among the departing titles are Mortal Kombat 11 and the 2020 remake of Resident Evil 3. Other fan favorites leaving the service include Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle, and both Life Is Strange: True Colors and Life Is Strange 2: Complete Season.  Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, Street Fighter V - Champion Edition, and Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 6 will also be removed.

This news follows a recent exodus of titles from the service on February 18, which included popular games like Tales of Arise, The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition, and Scarlet Nexus. The constant churn of titles within the Game Catalog underscores the dynamic nature of subscription services.

A New Sly Cooper Game Would Be Trapped Between a Rock and a Hard Place. The last entry in the Sly Cooper franchise ended on a notorious cliffhanger, giving a fresh chapter significant hurdles to clear.

The upcoming removal of these titles has already sparked disappointment amongst subscribers, with many expressing their frustration online.  However, PlayStation Plus is also gaining new additions. February 18 saw the arrival of games like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Top Spin 2K25, and SaGa Frontier Remastered for Extra tier subscribers. Premium members gained access to classic titles including Dropship: United Peace Force and Patapon 3.

Looking further ahead, three Armored Core games are slated to join the service in 2025, although a specific date remains unconfirmed. These announcements, along with others regarding upcoming game releases, were unveiled during the February 2025 State of Play event.

The State of Play also provided key release dates for eagerly awaited titles like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Borderlands 4. Additionally, it showcased the upcoming Days Gone Remastered and Saros, a new game from Returnal developers Housemarque, set to launch on PlayStation 5 in 2026.
