PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG: Battlegrounds) is commemorating eight years of battle royale action with a month-long anniversary event.  Players on both PC and consoles can look forward to a plethora of rewards, including exclusive themed skins and in-game currency.

Since its launch in 2017, PUBG: Battlegrounds has become a global phenomenon, popularizing the battle royale genre and paving the way for competitors like Fortnite and Apex Legends. The game continues to boast a substantial player base across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile platforms.

PUBG also recently unveiled a collaboration with NVIDIA to introduce an AI-powered 'co-playable character' partner, marking a new development in the game's evolution.

The 8th anniversary events will run from March 12th to April 7th on PC, and March 20th to April 15th on consoles.  Players can claim the 8th Anniversary Pack and Lucky G-Coin Box simply by logging in with their Krafton ID and clicking the 'Join Event' button.

Further rewards await those who log into the game lobby during specific periods. Between March 12th and 25th on PC (March 20th and April 2nd on consoles), players can earn up to 350 Event Tokens, 200 G-Coins, 70 Contraband Coupons, a Hunter's Chest and Key, and various themed items like skins, a victory dance, a nameplate, and an emblem.

Additional rewards, such as Orbital Vanguard skins, weapon camos, and new victory dances, can be acquired through the in-game Token Shop. Players can also earn Event Tokens and Contraband Coupons by completing specific objectives during matches, including surviving for a certain duration and dealing a set amount of damage to opponents. Hidden drops scattered across the Erangel map provide further opportunities for players to earn rewards.

Looking ahead, Krafton is expanding the PUBG universe with a new spin-off title, PUBG: Blindspot.  Announced in February 2025, this tactical shooter is slated for release on PC.

The enduring popularity of PUBG: Battlegrounds continues to drive revenue growth for Krafton, with nearly a million concurrent players daily on Steam alone.  The eighth anniversary celebration offers a compelling incentive for both veteran players and newcomers to join the battle.
