Marvel Snap's Prehistoric Avengers Season Stumbles with Bugged Weekend Challenge

2025-03-09 21:02:21

Marvel Snap's new Prehistoric Avengers season has launched with a frustrating bug affecting its Weekend Challenge. Players are tasked with winning a match using the unreleased card, Khonshu, making the challenge impossible to complete.

The challenge, which offers 200 Collector's Tokens as a reward, states "Win with Khonshu starting in your deck."  This has understandably left players unable to participate and questioning the oversight.  Several fans have confirmed this isn't a simple visual glitch or text error, attempting to complete the challenge with Eson, the current Spotlight Cache card, to no avail.

The Prehistoric Avengers season introduces five new cards, scheduled for weekly release via Marvel Snap's Spotlight Caches.  The bugged challenge, however, requires a card not set to release until the week of March 25th, essentially the final week of the season. This unusual timing further exacerbates the issue.

This latest bug follows closely on the heels of another recent glitch that hampered Scroll refills during the Sanctum Showdown event.  This string of issues has raised concerns amongst some players about the development team's ability to maintain the game's stability.

While this particular bug affects only a single challenge, it underscores a pattern of technical issues plaguing Marvel Snap. Back in November 2024, widespread mission malfunctions sparked significant community backlash. Players are now calling for a swift resolution, hopeful for an over-the-air (OTA) fix.

Second Dinner, the game’s developer, has acknowledged the issue and is currently investigating.  However, their track record of delayed responses has some players anticipating they'll miss out on the challenge rewards.  The bug remains active at the time of writing.

In a humorous response to the situation, players are jokingly demanding substantial compensation, often exaggerating the bug's impact on their progress. Comments like, "We are going to need 5k Gold and 20k Charms minimum compensation to begin to recover," highlight the community's frustration while referencing the well-received compensation offered after the TikTok ban. This positive precedent has some hoping for similar generosity in this instance, despite the smaller scale of the current issue.
