A new wave of nostalgia has hit Nintendo Switch Online with the arrival of Donkey Kong and Mario's Picross on March 7th.  These additions highlight Nintendo's ongoing commitment to enriching the subscription service with classic titles and added benefits.

Launched in 1989, the Game Boy quickly became a global phenomenon, selling millions of units and cementing its place in gaming history.  Its simple yet effective 8-bit graphics and iconic green screen captivated players for years, hosting beloved titles like Pokemon Red and Blue, Ducktales, and Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3.  Now, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can experience another piece of gaming history with these latest additions.

The March 7th update introduces the 1994 Game Boy version of Donkey Kong, based on the iconic 1981 arcade game. Players take on the role of Mario, tasked with rescuing Pauline from the clutches of Donkey Kong at a construction site.  Also joining the lineup is Mario's Picross, a 1995 nonogram puzzle game. While not developed by Nintendo, it quickly gained popularity, spawning numerous sequels featuring franchises like Pokemon and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Beyond Donkey Kong and Mario's Picross, Nintendo Switch Online boasts a rich collection of Game Boy classics.  Explore the origins of Dracula and the Belmont family feud in Castlevania Legends (1997), blast through robot masters in Mega Man 2 through 5, or float through Dream Land with Kirby's Dream Land titles.  Fans of the Donkey Kong and Super Mario franchises can also find a variety of titles, including Super Mario Land 2–6 Golden Coins.

These additions follow closely on the heels of Wario Land 4's arrival on the service, further demonstrating Nintendo's commitment to expanding its retro game catalog. Subscribers also have access to a growing library of game soundtracks, including The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and the complete soundtrack from StreetPass Mii Plaza 3DS.
