Fireproof Games, the acclaimed studio behind the intricate puzzle box adventure series The Room, is set to release their supernatural VR mystery game, Ghost Town, on April 24th for Meta Quest platforms. PC VR and PSVR2 versions are slated for release later this year.

Ghost Town transports players back to 1983, placing them in the role of ghost hunter Edith Penrose.  Edith and her roommate run a successful paranormal investigation agency in London, and, as Fireproof Games puts it, "she almost makes rent on time, and the ghost in her bathroom mirror is less demanding than usual."

However, Edith's world is turned upside down when her brother disappears. This sets her off on a quest to uncover his whereabouts, leading her to a remote Scottish island seeking a gifted medium and then deep into London's hidden supernatural underbelly.

This thrilling narrative unfolds across expansive, explorable environments. Players will interact with characters, both living and spectral, brought to life through full motion capture. Fireproof Games explains, "Using dual controllers like two hands, you'll shine your flashlight into dark corners, investigate atmospheric locations, use your hands for physical interaction to solve hands-on puzzles, cast spells, and even conjure trapped spirits to help them pass on."
