Data from True Trophies and Game Trends reveals a 15.2% decrease in player engagement compared to February and a 10.8% drop compared to January.

This decline is unexpected considering the positive critical reception and popularity of the March titles.  While Dragon Age: The Veilguard may not have been a commercial blockbuster, it earned favorable reviews. Sonic Colors: Ultimate is widely regarded as a top-tier 3D Sonic game, and the Cowabunga Collection offers a nostalgic trip for fans of classic TMNT games.

The January 2025 lineup included Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, and The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe.  February offered Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World: Re-Pac.  Both lineups, despite including titles like Suicide Squad which faced criticism upon release, saw higher player engagement.

The unexpected drop in player activity for March raises questions about subscriber engagement and preferences.  It remains to be seen whether this trend will persist with the April 2025 free games.  While the specific April titles are yet to be announced, it's confirmed that PS Plus Extra members will receive Blue Prince on its release date, April 10th.
