This week has already been monumental for fans, as HoYoverse announced that Zenless Zone Zero is coming to Xbox and revealed a special livestream event scheduled for April 11. The initial teaser hinted at "exciting new updates," leaving players speculating whether Update 1.7 details might be included. Surprisingly, HoYoverse dropped fresh information about Version 2.0, which promises to revolutionize the acclaimed live-service action RPG.

In an extensive Dev Talk video, Zenless Zone Zero game designer "y" shared a plethora of details about Season 2, including sweeping gameplay adjustments and narrative expansions. Story-wise, players will uncover the next phase of Sarah's plan as they venture into Waifei Peninsula, a previously unexplored region. New plot developments will tie up loose ends from earlier versions, such as the truth behind the fall of the old capital and the enigmatic origins of the Zenless Zone Zero protagonists.

The video also highlighted major gameplay overhauls, including new explorable zones like Failume Heights, Areospace City, and Lemnian Hollow. Players will engage in fresh activities, such as managing Suibian Temple—a location that evolves over time through player interaction.

The Zenless Zone Zero map is undergoing a significant redesign, with Failume Heights expanded to accommodate future updates. The travel system will transition from slide cards to a more intuitive map interface, load times will be minimized, and HoYoverse is enhancing Quality Time hangouts with Agents. New game modes and events were teased, alongside numerous quality-of-life combat improvements.

Regarding Agents, "y" confirmed Yixuan's pivotal role in Season 2 as the leader of Yunkui Summit, a faction the proxies align with. Obol Squad will also take center stage, and the long-anticipated Angels of Delusion will finally make their debut in Zenless Zone Zero.
