Harvest Moon Returns to Nintendo Switch with Lost Valley and Skytree Village Bundle

Two beloved Harvest Moon games from the Nintendo 3DS are being re-released as a bundle for the Nintendo Switch.  The bundle will include all previously released DLC for both games, offering a complete package for newcomers and a chance for existing fans to relive the experience with added content.

The Harvest Moon series, while remaining a popular cozy sim franchise, has experienced some branding complexities in recent years.  Beginning in the early 2010s, the original developer, Marvelous, began releasing their farm sim titles under the name 'Story of Seasons' in the West.  Natsume, who previously handled localization and publishing for the series, continued to develop and release games under the 'Harvest Moon' name. As a result, the Natsume-developed 3DS Harvest Moon games offer a different experience from earlier entries in the original series.

The two Harvest Moon titles coming to the Switch are Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley and Harvest Moon: Skytree Village.  The bundled release is planned for Summer 2025 from Natsume.  Pricing details are yet to be announced, but the inclusion of all DLC for both games adds considerable value.  The Lost Valley originally had ten DLC packs, while Skytree Village had four.  This comprehensive bundle ensures players have access to the complete experience, including content that was initially free or paid.

The CEO of Natsume, Hiro Maekawa, has confirmed that both games have been optimized for "current consoles."  While specific details about these optimizations haven't been revealed, significant gameplay changes seem unlikely.  The games will be available both physically, with both titles on a single cartridge, and digitally via download.

The upcoming release on the Nintendo Switch, along with its backward compatibility with the Nintendo Switch 2, strengthens the console's impressive game library.  Players new to Natsume's take on the Harvest Moon series might also be interested in exploring Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos, the most recent console entry in the series, released in late 2023 for the Switch and other platforms.
