Analogue 3D Delayed to July 2025: Relive N64 Classics in 4K
2025-03-19 09:54:43The highly anticipated Analogue 3D, a modern take on the classic Nintendo 64 console, has been pushed back to a July 2025 release. Originally slated for Q1 2025, the Analogue 3D aims to provide the definitive way to experience the entire N64 library with 100% compatibility and enhanced visuals.
Announced in October 2024 with a $249.99 price tag, the Analogue 3D quickly sold out during pre-orders. Available in black and white, the console is designed to work seamlessly with the officially licensed 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller, sold separately for $39.99.
While a classic N64 title recently saw a modern resurgence on PS5 and Xbox Series X with enhanced graphics and gameplay, N64 purists were looking forward to the Analogue 3D's faithful recreation of the original hardware experience.
Analogue confirmed the delay via Twitter, assuring customers that pre-orders remain valid and offering full refunds upon request. However, the lack of real-time gameplay footage has left some fans questioning the console's performance with demanding N64 titles.
The Analogue 3D distinguishes itself by using FPGA hardware to achieve compatibility rather than relying on emulation. This approach aims to provide a lag-free, authentic gaming experience. Beyond supporting all N64 cartridges, the console boasts 4K output, compatibility with up to four original N64 controllers, and connectivity for various modern controllers via USB and Bluetooth. Integrated Memory Pak and Expansion Pak functionalities, along with included HDMI, USB, and USB-C power supply cables, round out the package.
While the Analogue 3D is currently unavailable, Analogue recently restocked the white variant of its popular Analogue Pocket handheld. This device supports Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Game Gear cartridges, offering a similar premium retro gaming experience for handheld enthusiasts. The black Analogue Pocket and related accessories are still available on Analogue's official website.
