Unlocking a Rogue's Secret: Hidden Transmog and Lore in WoW Patch 11.1

Patch 11.1 of World of Warcraft introduces a hidden gem for Rogues—a secret lockbox containing the Spare Uncrowned Vest transmog and a journal entry from Renzik "The Shiv," linking to his recent short story, "The Tipping Point," featured in World of Warcraft: Crossroads.

Accessing this secret requires completing a significant portion of the Undermine(d) campaign.  Interestingly, players don't need to be a Rogue to experience the storyline, but only Rogues can unlock the lockbox itself.

The Undermine(d) content update has been live for a while, allowing players to uncover numerous secrets within. Some, like the C.H.E.T.T. List turn-in for Cartel reputation, are accessible to all characters. However, this Rogue-specific secret is tucked away near the end of the Undermine(d) campaign.

During the "Cut After Cut" questline in the "Homecoming" chapter, players visit the Westfall Lighthouse with SI:7 leader Matthias Shaw.  Renzik's Lockbox can be found on the left side of the lighthouse, but only Rogues possess the skill to open it.

Inside awaits the Spare Uncrowned Vest, a sleeveless variant of the Eternal Bloodfang Chestpiece (the uprezzed Rogue Tier 2 set from WoW's 20th-anniversary event).  It's also a high-definition version of the Vest of Artful Dodging from the Legion expansion's Rogue Class Order Hall.

In addition to the transmog, the lockbox contains Renzik's Journal, adding further depth to the character's lore and his connection to the Uncrowned.

Once players reach this point in the Undermine(d) storyline, the lockbox becomes visible to other characters, although only Rogues can open it. Aspiring Rogues can visit the Westfall Lighthouse at level 10, but must reach level 70 to equip the transmog.

Patch 11.1 offers other nods to Rogue lore. Renzik "The Shiv" appears in the Rogue Class Order Hall campaign.  Steamwheedle Cartel Trade-Prince Marin Noggenfogger and Matthias Shaw were recruitable Champions, featuring unique dialogue with Rogues, acknowledging their leadership within the Uncrowned. Amusingly, a past bug sometimes revealed Noggenfogger's connection to the Uncrowned to all classes, a humorous slip-up for a supposedly secretive organization.
