Marvel Rivals Bans Blitz Cheat Tool, Sparks Player Concerns

Marvel Rivals has officially banned the use of Blitz, a third-party tool that gave players access to their opponents' statistics during matches.  This program, which injected itself into the game process, allowed users to see confidential information such as damage and healing stats, enabling them to strategically counter opponents and predict ultimate abilities. The developers at NetEase have deemed this an unfair advantage and have taken action to maintain a level playing field.

This isn't the first time Marvel Rivals has addressed issues of unfair play.  NetEase has been working to combat cheating and exploits since the game's beta launch, punishing players who violate the terms of service. Last December, several instances of players using hacks and exploits gained notoriety, prompting the developers to implement measures like automatically ending matches when cheaters are detected, after warning other players.  Banning Blitz represents a new initiative in their ongoing efforts to curb toxic behavior within the game's community.

The ban on Blitz has, however, raised concerns among some players. They worry about the possibility of being falsely penalized for simply having Blitz installed, even if they aren't using it actively during Marvel Rivals matches.  Since Blitz is also utilized in other games like League of Legends, there are fears that the detection system might not differentiate between having it installed and actively using it within Marvel Rivals.  While NetEase hasn't fully clarified how they plan to address this concern, they have stated that players who used Blitz prior to the ban will not be retroactively punished.
