Pokémon Unite Celebrates Pokémon Day with New Characters, Returning Map, and Gameplay Updates

Pokémon Unite players received a wealth of exciting news during the recent Pokémon Day festivities.  The popular mobile MOBA revealed the addition of three new playable Pokémon: Miraidon, Ceruledge, and Falinks. These additions expand the roster of Paldean Pokémon in the game, joining the likes of Armarouge, Meowscarada, and Tinkaton.

The Prize Machine event offers players a chance to obtain coveted Holowear, such as Sunshine Style: Venusaur, completely free.  A balance update has also been implemented, introducing buffs and nerfs to various characters, items, and overall gameplay mechanics.

Looking ahead, Pokémon Unite announced that Suicune, Alolan Raichu, and Alcremie will be joining the fray. Suicune is set to arrive on March 1st, with Alolan Raichu following in April. Alcremie's release date remains to be confirmed but is expected later this year. While the announcement trailer kept details scarce, unofficial sources suggest Suicune will be an All-Rounder, Alolan Raichu an Attacker, and Alcremie a Defender.

The latest update also marks the return of Remoat Stadium.  This original map will be available for ranked matches from February 27th to March 12th.  Adding a fresh competitive twist, a new 'First to 500' mode has been introduced where the first team to reach 500 points wins.  Special effects are triggered at scoring milestones of 50, 100, 200, and 350 points.

The update further enhances the visual experience with updates to the current map and wild Pokémon, optimizing the game's graphics.  Quality-of-life improvements are also included.

The Pokémon Day update brings balance changes with buffs and nerfs.  Older Pokémon like Absol, Gengar, and Talonflame have received improvements, while newer additions like Miraidon, Tinkaton, and Urshifu have been slightly toned down.

Players can redeem a platinum Suicune boost emblem in-game using the code POKEDAY25.  A free license test event allows players to try out all Pokémon, excluding ranked matches, until March 2nd.  The in-game store and events have been refreshed, and new conquest missions for the latest Pokémon have been added.
