Following the critically acclaimed Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, fans eagerly await the third installment in Insomniac's Spider-Man universe. While the studio is currently immersed in developing its highly anticipated Wolverine title for PS5, slated for a potential 2026 release,  the inevitable Spider-Man 3 remains a hot topic of discussion.

Rumors of a standalone Venom game also circulate, further fueling speculation about the expanding Insomniac Marvel universe. However, for now, the focus remains on the web-slinger's next adventure.

The ending of Spider-Man 2 left many wondering about Peter Parker's future.  Passing the torch to Miles Morales to prioritize his relationship with Mary-Jane Watson, some feared Peter's permanent retirement.  However, voice actor Yuri Lowenthal has quelled those concerns, confirming Peter's return in the next game.

In an interview with The Direct, Lowenthal reassured fans, stating, "Peter is not gone. He will be a part of the next game, and he won't be relegated to the couch, I promise." This strongly suggests not only Peter's presence but also his potential return as a playable character.

While an official announcement for Spider-Man 3 remains pending, speculation abounds regarding its narrative and gameplay features. The return of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales seems highly likely, with the possibility of a third playable character entering the fray.  The post-credit scene of Spider-Man 2 introduced Cindy Moon, also known as Silk in the comics, leading many to believe she might join the roster in the upcoming installment.

Beyond Wolverine and the potential Venom project,  rumors hint at Insomniac's ambitious plans for X-Men games, expanding their Marvel portfolio even further. Time will tell which of these projects materialize, but the future looks bright for Marvel fans eager to experience more of Insomniac's unique take on these iconic characters.
