Rumors are swirling within the Genshin Impact community about the potential arrival of a brand-new game mode: Auto Chess.  This exciting leak hints at a significant expansion to the already diverse gameplay offered by the popular RPG.

The Auto Chess genre experienced a surge in popularity in the late 2010s, originating as a Dota 2 mod and quickly evolving into a standalone genre.  Titles like Teamfight Tactics, inspired by League of Legends, solidified the genre's presence. Now, Genshin Impact may be the next game to embrace this strategic game mode.

The leak, originating from prominent HoYoverse leaker HomDGCat, suggests the Genshin Impact Auto Chess mode will incorporate both PvP and PvE elements, blending exploration and combat. Players will reportedly be able to acquire equipment and Artifacts to enhance their characters and even sell equipment to upgrade character Talents.

While a specific release date remains unknown, the leak indicates the new mode will arrive sometime after Version 5.6. This aligns with HoYoverse's history of incorporating popular game formats into Genshin Impact, such as Windtrace, inspired by Prop Hunt. Some mini-games, like the rhythm game, have even become permanent features due to their popularity.  Whether Auto Chess will become a permanent addition or an event-exclusive mode remains to be seen.
