Days Gone Remastered: Enhanced Accessibility and Next-Gen Upgrades for PS5
2025-04-23 02:22:19Bend Studios has unveiled the extensive accessibility features coming to Days Gone Remastered, set to launch on PlayStation 5 on April 25, 2025. Building upon the foundation of the original 2019 release, Days Gone Remastered boasts enhanced graphics, new game modes, and a host of customizable settings designed to cater to a broader audience.
Following a leak in late 2024, Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February 2025, with Bend Studios confirming additional enhancements for the PS5 Pro. The original game, released for PlayStation 4 in April 2019, received mixed reviews due to technical issues and mission design. While a sequel pitch to Sony was unsuccessful, players can now revisit post-apocalyptic Oregon with a fresh perspective, thanks to the remastered edition's new features.
In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, detailed the accessibility options in Days Gone Remastered. Visual enhancements include 11 subtitle color choices and a customizable High Contrast Mode for better visibility. The audio has been overhauled with UI Narration and Collectible Audio Cues, the latter aiding players in locating hidden items. These cues will also play through the DualSense controller's speaker. Players can fully customize controls and adjust gameplay speed to their preference. Some of these features will also be available for the PC version of Days Gone.
Days Gone Remastered: A More Inclusive and Customizable Experience
Earlier this month, McAllister highlighted the visual improvements in Days Gone Remastered for PS5, describing them as "noticeable." Upgrades include better shadow quality, enhanced lighting, deeper fog effects, and larger zombie hordes. The new Horde Assault mode will challenge players with groups of up to 800 enemies.
PC players aren't left behind, as the Days Gone Broken Road DLC launches on Steam on April 25. This update brings DualSense support, an improved photo mode, and Permadeath and Horde Assault modes to the PC version.
