Genshin Impact Version 5.6: Ifa's Underwhelming Kit Sparks Community Disappointment

2025-04-15 04:07:46

The latest beta updates for Genshin Impact have brought disappointing news for fans of Ifa, the upcoming 4-star character who appears to have a lackluster ability kit. Despite the excitement surrounding his introduction, Ifa's performance in combat seems underwhelming compared to other Natlan characters like Mavuika, Citlali, and Xilonen. The community's anticipation grew after his teaser in Version 5.1, and his prominent role in the Version 5.5 Flagship Event further fueled expectations.

Ifa's popularity stems from the scarcity of male 5-star characters in recent updates. Between Version 4.1 and Version 5.7, Genshin Impact has introduced only one male 5-star unit, making Ifa a highly anticipated addition. However, his confirmation as a 4-star character dampened spirits. Additionally, his design and voice acting by Jonny Loquasto contributed to high expectations, which his leaked kit fails to meet.

Genshin Impact Version 5.6

Initial leaks about Ifa's abilities left many Genshin Impact players underwhelmed. While he is intended as an on-field Electro-Charged enabler with minor healing support, his healing output is negligible. Recent beta changes, as shared by Hakushin, further diminish his role as a healer, pushing him toward a more niche utility.

Genshin Impact: Ifa's Changes in Version 5.6 (v4)

Passives

  • P4: While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, when the active party member or indwelt saurian has less than 40% HP, Ifa consumes 10 Phlogiston to restore 40% HP. This effect triggers once every 10s and is inactive in Domains, Trounce Domains, or the Spiral Abyss.

Constellations

  • C6: Ifa's Hold version of Supporting Fire has a 50% chance to fire an additional Tonicshot, dealing 120% of his ATK as Anemo DMG (considered Normal Attack DMG). Additionally, outside combat, he consumes 20% less Nightsoul points and Phlogiston in his Nightsoul's Blessing state.

While Ifa's ascension passive makes him a strong exploration character in Natlan, its region-locked utility limits his overall value. With only one remaining Natlan zone before the story shifts to Nod-Krai, his passive feels too situational. Compared to Iansan, Lan Yan, or even Ororon, Ifa's combat contributions fall short.

The nerf to his C6 constellation further weakens Ifa, given his already low base ATK. Although Genshin Impact allows diverse team compositions for endgame content, players should temper their expectations for Ifa's performance. Version 5.6 launches on May 7, 2025.
