Insider Gaming reports that the 2025 Call of Duty title could launch with six full-fledged, round-based zombie maps throughout its lifecycle.

These maps, currently in early development, are being built from the ground up to function across various modes, including classic survival, Grief, and Outbreak, according to sources familiar with the project.

Treyarch, the studio reportedly helming the project, is exploring unconventional settings.  Leaked details mention a nuclear-bombed New York City in an alternate history where WWII Germany successfully deployed nuclear weapons, and a Japanese temple at the base of an erupting volcano.

Further concepts reportedly under consideration include maps set in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and even a space station.

Leaks from feedback meetings also suggest that the 2025 Call of Duty will boast one of the largest zombie maps ever, potentially featuring a transit system similar to the bus in the Tranzit map from Black Ops II.

While it remains unconfirmed which of these ambitious concepts will make it into the final game, the leaks paint a picture of a potentially expansive and exciting new chapter for Call of Duty's beloved Zombies mode.
