Monster Hunter Wilds Hotfix Addresses Game-Breaking Bug and More

Following its successful launch and subsequent player milestones on Steam, Monster Hunter Wilds has unfortunately encountered some initial hurdles, including a critical bug affecting story progression and ongoing performance concerns, particularly on PC.  While also facing criticism regarding microtransactions and perceived lack of difficulty, Capcom is actively working to address these issues, starting with a much-needed hotfix.

Players experiencing a frustrating bug in the 'A World Turned Upside Down' mission, where a crucial NPC fails to appear, hindering progression, will be relieved to hear that a fix is incoming. This bug prevents players from continuing the story, effectively halting their gameplay experience.  Capcom has identified the issue and prioritized its resolution in the upcoming hotfix.

In addition to addressing the game-breaking bug, the hotfix also tackles issues with the Ingredient Center and the 'Grill a Meal' feature. These fixes, while less critical than the story progression blocker, aim to improve overall gameplay quality and user experience.

The highly anticipated hotfix will arrive on March 4th at 12 am PST. Upon release, all online sessions will be disconnected, requiring players to download the update before rejoining online hunts.  This mandatory update ensures all players are on the same version and benefit from the fixes.

While this news is welcomed by many, particularly those blocked by the progression bug, some players remain concerned about the persistent performance issues plaguing the PC version. Capcom has acknowledged these concerns and offered temporary performance improvement tips while a more comprehensive solution is developed. However, some vocal players have expressed dissatisfaction, desiring a dedicated performance patch sooner rather than later.
