Rumors are circulating about a potential crossover between Fortnite and the cyberpunk classic, Blade Runner, specifically the 2049 sequel. This follows a string of recent collaborations, including the confirmed Kaiju No. 8 crossover, and hints at more exciting partnerships to come for the popular battle royale game.

Fortnite has a history of integrating beloved sci-fi franchises into its universe, including Star Trek and Star Wars. While a Blade Runner crossover seemed a perfect fit during the "Mega" chapter, it didn't materialize.  However, recent leaks suggest that this missed opportunity might be rectified soon.

The rumors began with a tweet from known leaker NotPalo, who hinted at a Blade Runner collaboration on January 25th. The accompanying image pointed towards Blade Runner 2049, rather than the original film.  Shortly after, prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX corroborated this information, claiming a Blade Runner 2049 crossover is currently in development. While Epic Games remains silent, these leakers have a track record of accurate predictions, lending credibility to the rumors.

While details on the potential crossover remain scarce, speculation abounds. Popular choices for character skins include Ryan Gosling's Officer K and Harrison Ford's Rick Deckard. Such a collaboration could significantly boost publicity for the Blade Runner franchise, especially with Amazon's Blade Runner series on the horizon. Introducing these iconic characters to Fortnite could rekindle interest in the franchise and build anticipation for the upcoming show.
