Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the latest installment in the beloved Pokémon series, is set to launch in late 2025.  This new adventure takes trainers back to the Kalos region, specifically a reimagined Lumiose City undergoing a massive urban redevelopment project. The goal is to create a harmonious environment where both people and Pokémon can thrive.

The recent Pokémon Presents showcase offered an extended look at the game, revealing exciting details that have sparked discussions among fans.  One significant discovery is the return of the move Power-Up Punch.  Leaked screenshots show Mega Kangaskhan utilizing this Fighting-type attack, which boosts the user's physical attack stat with each use. Notably absent in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Power-Up Punch was a fan-favorite in previous titles, particularly for Pokémon like Lucario, Hitmonchan, and Mega Evolutions.

The return of Mega Kangaskhan alongside Power-Up Punch hints at the possible return of other Mega Evolutions, adding another layer of strategy to battles.

Not only are classic elements returning, but Pokémon Legends: Z-A also introduces new moves for familiar Pokémon.  Chikorita, one of the three starter Pokémon available – alongside Tepig and Totodile – has been shown using the Fairy-type move Disarming Voice.  This sound-based attack is currently unavailable to Chikorita and its evolutions in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, demonstrating the developers' commitment to expanding the strategic possibilities within the game.
