Capcom has teased the potential return of a beloved monster, Lagiacrus, to the world of Monster Hunter Wilds. The electrifying leviathan was hinted at in the trailer for Title Update 1, sparking excitement among fans of the franchise.

Monster Hunter Wilds' rapid success, selling over eight million copies in mere days, suggests ongoing support and updates from Capcom. The game's popularity and positive critical reception, with an average score of 89 on OpenCritic, make it ripe for the reintroduction of classic monsters like Lagiacrus.

The glimpse of a monster resembling Lagiacrus in the Title Update 1 trailer has fueled speculation about its inclusion in a future update, most likely Title Update 2.  This leviathan, with its distinctive sea dragon appearance and electric attacks, first appeared in Monster Hunter 3, quickly becoming a fan favorite. Interestingly, Capcom initially planned to incorporate Lagiacrus into Monster Hunter World, but animation challenges reportedly led to its exclusion.

Title Update 1, launching on April 4th, introduces the Grand Hub, a central location for players to interact, craft, and enjoy mini-games.  The update also features the addition of Mizutsune, a popular water-based monster from Monster Hunter Rise.

Capcom has also outlined a schedule of upcoming Event and Challenge Quests to keep players engaged. Events like "Like a Fire Hidden by Sand" and "Congalala Cravings" span March and lead into April events such as "Anguish and Atrocity," "King of a Faraway Sky," "When Do Quematrice Sing," and "Doshaguma of the Hollow." This steady stream of content demonstrates Capcom's commitment to maintaining player interest and providing fresh challenges throughout 2025.
