Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 Update Secretly Alters Nacht Raider Skin

The Season 2 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, released on January 28th, brought a wave of bug fixes and new content. However, it also included a stealthy change to the Nacht Raider operator skin, a free reward for reaching Prestige 1, that has players perplexed.  This alteration was not documented in the official patch notes.

The increasingly outlandish operator skins in Call of Duty have been a point of contention among players for years, reaching a fever pitch with Black Ops 6.  From neon green dragons to unicorn finishing moves, the game's cosmetic choices have been criticized for their unrealistic nature. While some grounded skins exist, like the zombie-fied Weaver available at Prestige 1, the unexpected change to the Nacht Raider skin has added fuel to the fire.

The Nacht Raider skin, earned by reaching Prestige 1, is a popular cosmetic choice in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.  However, Treyarch Studios appears to have significantly modified the skin in the Season 2 update.  As highlighted by Twitter user ModernWarzone, the skin now features a prominent skull, an addition not present before the update and absent from the patch notes. This unexpected change has led some to believe it's a bug, although Treyarch Studios has yet to comment on the matter.

While not game-breaking, this alteration is another issue among many currently affecting the game.  Although the Season 2 update aimed to resolve a recurring bug involving the "Congratulations, you've Mastered Prestige" message appearing after every match, some players report its persistence.  The update also introduced new problems for both Black Ops 6 and Warzone, including difficulties joining friends' parties and players being kicked from split-screen sessions.  Treyarch Studios is actively investigating these issues.

The highly anticipated Season 2 update delivered ample content for Black Ops 6, but Warzone players were left wanting. Activision previously announced reduced Warzone content for Season 2, prioritizing gameplay adjustments, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements.  Consequently, Season 2 only introduced a single new perk (with another planned for the mid-season update) and new Ranked Play rewards.
