Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has defied expectations, achieving impressive sales and player numbers despite some initial controversies.  The game sold over one million copies in its first 24 hours, rapidly recouping its $41 million development budget.

Even more remarkably, KC:D 2 has demonstrated a 'reverse growth' trend on Steam.  Four days after its February 4th launch,  the peak concurrent player count continues to climb, surpassing 200,000 players today—a significant increase from the 160,000 players recorded on launch day.

Currently holding the fourth position on Steam's most-played list, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 effectively claims the top spot among paid titles, as the three games ahead of it are all free-to-play.

While the game's Steam review score has dipped slightly, it remains overwhelmingly positive.  Out of 14,752 reviews, the positive rating has dropped from 93% on launch day to 90%, still firmly within 'Overwhelmingly Positive' territory.

According to Czech media outlets, the development cost for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was a relatively modest $41 million.
