Lost Ark is commemorating its third anniversary with a generous offering of free gifts for its dedicated player base.  Originally developed by Smilegate for a Korean audience in 2019, the MMORPG has since seen a global release through Amazon Games in February 2022.

While player numbers have fluctuated since the game's peak popularity, Lost Ark retains a loyal following of roughly 67,000 daily active users.

Upon its global launch, Lost Ark experienced a surge of popularity, reaching over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam, briefly becoming the platform's second-most-played game.  Though its peak player count has since been surpassed by newer titles, the game continues to thrive.

The anniversary celebration also features the “Festa of Arkesia,” a special event encompassing an exclusive Anniversary Island, new quests, a revamped Balthorr raid, a dedicated event shop, and unique rewards.

Continuing a tradition of lavish anniversary celebrations, Lost Ark is offering even more treasures this year, including exclusive third-anniversary Weapon and Skin Selection Chests, allowing players to personalize their character and weapon appearances. A new wallpaper further enhances the personalization options.

The inclusion of 20 Collective Battle Item Chests will offer a significant boost to players engaging in PvP combat. These chests grant players access to various combat-enhancing items, such as health potions, offensive buffs, and defensive shields, proving invaluable in competitive matches.

The anniversary gift of Pheons, Lost Ark's premium currency, is a welcome addition, enabling players to acquire a broader range of gear from the Auction House.

The game's journey hasn't been without its challenges.  Previous attempts to combat bot activity through account bans resulted in some legitimate players being mistakenly penalized.  While Smilegate and Amazon Games addressed and reversed many of these erroneous bans, the incident underscores the complexities of maintaining a healthy online gaming environment.

Despite past hurdles, Lost Ark remains a popular MMORPG, and this latest round of anniversary gifts and events is sure to delight and engage its devoted fanbase.
