Fortnite OG Season 3 Revisits 2017 With 50v50, Classic Loot, and a New Battle Pass

Fortnite OG Season 3 has officially launched, bringing a wave of nostalgia for players who remember the game's early days. This update features the return of the popular 50v50 mode, the iconic Lucky Landing location, and a collection of classic weapons like the Light Machine Gun, Port-A-Fort, Heavy Shotgun, and Clingers.

Alongside these throwbacks is a new OG Battle Pass packed with cosmetic items inspired by original Season 3 outfits such as Power Chord, Raven, and Rex. The pass offers 45 tiers of rewards, including three new outfits: Power Punk, Mecha R3X, and Sir Raven, along with Back Blings, Pickaxes, and other accessories.  Players can purchase the premium pass for 1,000 V-Bucks.

Data miners have already been busy uncovering secrets within the updated game files. Evidence suggests an upcoming crossover with The Walking Dead, with leaks pointing to the inclusion of Negan's bat and a new skin for the infamous villain.  While Epic Games hasn't officially confirmed the collaboration, the discovery has generated significant excitement.

Despite the excitement surrounding the OG update, controversy still surrounds the recently introduced Kicks cosmetic feature.  Allowing players to customize their in-game footwear, Kicks have been met with criticism due to their high price point (600 to 1,000 V-Bucks) and the limited visibility of a player's feet during gameplay. Many players argue that the cost doesn't justify the cosmetic enhancement.

The OG Season 3 update also reintroduces the mysterious meteor looming in the sky, a callback to the event that kicked off Fortnite's original storyline.  As the season progresses, the meteor will draw closer, hinting at future developments and potentially new challenges.

The 50v50 limited-time mode is back until April 14th, offering large-scale battles with two teams of 50 players competing for victory. This mode, first introduced in 2017, remains a fan favorite for its chaotic and exciting gameplay.

With the return of classic elements and the potential for new crossovers, Fortnite OG Season 3 promises a nostalgic trip down memory lane for veteran players while offering fresh content for newcomers.  However, the debate surrounding the pricing of cosmetic items like Kicks continues to be a talking point within the community.
