The critically acclaimed free-to-play survival shooter, Once Human, is making the leap to mobile platforms on April 23rd.  Developed by Starry Studios, this post-apocalyptic open-world game has garnered a 'Mostly Positive' rating on Steam since its initial PC launch in July 2024.

Players are thrust into the ravaged world of Nalcott Island, transformed by a catastrophic event known as Starfall. The landscape is now permeated by a mysterious alien substance called Stardust, mutating flora, fauna, and humans alike, creating dangerous and unpredictable environments.

As a 'Meta,' a biologically enhanced human with unique powers, players must navigate this treacherous new world.  Experimentation by a shadowy corporation is at the heart of this transformation, adding another layer of intrigue to the already compelling narrative.

The mobile launch allows fans to experience the intense action and strategic gameplay of Once Human on the go. Pre-registration is currently open, and Starry Studios is celebrating the release with giveaways including Steam gift cards, AirPods, and even an iPhone 16.

Cross-platform compatibility between PC and mobile has been confirmed, enabling players on both platforms to explore Nalcott Island together. While cross-save functionality hasn't been confirmed for launch, the developers at Starry Studios are known for their active community engagement and responsiveness to player feedback, leaving the possibility open for future implementation. The game's future looks bright, with two new scenarios, 'Code: Broken' and 'Code: Purification,' slated for early access in May and June, respectively.  Optimizations for the 'Way of Winter' scenario are also on the horizon. Full releases for these scenarios, along with 'Code: Deviation,' are expected between July and September, alongside the arrival of Seasons 3 and 4 of the Visional Wheels.

While the PC and mobile versions are currently the focus, the community remains hopeful for a console release on platforms like PS5 and Xbox Series.  The mobile launch certainly fuels speculation and anticipation for Once Human's expansion to an even broader audience.
