The highly anticipated Death Stranding 2: On the Beach finally has a release date!  Confirmed at a South By Southwest (SXSW) panel on March 9th,  creator Hideo Kojima, alongside Sony representatives and cast members including Norman Reedus and Troy Baker, announced the game's arrival on PS5 on June 26th, 2025.

Pre-orders for this post-apocalyptic adventure begin on March 17th at 10:00 AM Eastern time.  Fans eager to delve back into the world of Sam Porter Bridges can choose from the standard edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, or the coveted Collector's Edition.

The Digital Deluxe Edition offers additional in-game content, such as a unique machine gun and patches, while the Collector's Edition boasts a wealth of physical items.  These include a striking 15-inch Magellan Man statue, a 3-inch Dollman figurine, a collector's box, art cards, a letter from Hideo Kojima himself, and a voucher for the Digital Deluxe Edition content.

Returning characters like Sam and Higgs, alongside new faces, will navigate a world grappling with questions of human connection. The enhanced Social Strand system and open-ended encounters promise players greater agency in their interactions with the environment and its inhabitants.

A new trailer showcased during the SXSW panel offered glimpses of gameplay and cinematic sequences captured on PS5 hardware, hinting at the intense action and emotional depth awaiting players.  The trailer also highlighted the return and evolution of key gameplay mechanics from the original Death Stranding.

All pre-orders grant 48 hours of early access to Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. With the game's psychological themes and dedicated fanbase, the Collector's Edition is expected to be in high demand.
