Embark Studios has released update 5.12.0 for their fast-paced first-person shooter, The Finals, bringing a wave of balance adjustments, bug fixes, and improvements to prepare for the upcoming Season 6.

While Season 6 details remain scarce, anticipation is building with the promise of new content later this month. In the meantime, players can dive into the latest update available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.

Adding to the excitement, Embark Studios recently announced The Finals' foray into esports.  Players will have the opportunity to compete in open qualifiers for the 2025 Major, boasting a substantial $100,000 prize pool. This tournament will culminate in a Q4 2025 LAN event, promising high-stakes competition.

With Season 6 and a major esports tournament on the horizon, there's much to anticipate.  Update 5.12.0 lays the groundwork with significant changes.  The Model 1887 and Recurve Bow receive key balance adjustments, accompanied by a host of bug fixes and performance enhancements.

The Recurve Bow now deals 124 damage per shot at max draw (up from 120). The Model 1887, previously considered underpowered, receives a damage boost from 11 to 12 per pellet.  Its lever-action animation has also been shortened, increasing its fire rate from 70RPM to 75RPM. Embark Studios acknowledges previous nerfs went too far, and these changes aim to restore the weapon's viability.

Beyond a refreshed store rotation, this update doesn't introduce substantial new content. However, Embark Studios has begun teasing Season 6 and hinted at a potential medieval-themed map, a popular fan request.
