Rumors are swirling in the Zenless Zone Zero community about the upcoming Version 1.6, with a new leak pointing to a surprising role for the anticipated character, Hugo Vlad.

Known leaker, Donut, has reported that Hugo Vlad will appear as an enemy boss in 1.6. The leak showcases Hugo Vlad's imposing shadow boss model for the Shiyu Defense event, indicating players will also encounter his normal model during the main storyline.  Intriguingly, his boss form features a massive scythe, a weapon previously rumored to be his signature equipment when he eventually becomes playable.

This potential boss fight adds another layer to the mystery surrounding Hugo Vlad. Fans first glimpsed him during a cutscene in Lycaon's Agent Story, revealing a past connection between the two.  He later appeared briefly in the Version 1.5 Bangboo competition, identified only as "Blonde Man."  Despite limited in-game appearances, Hugo Vlad has quickly become a fan favorite, fueling speculation about his playable debut.

The precedent for enemy-turned-playable character exists in Zenless Zone Zero. Jane Doe, a former boss, now serves as an S-Rank agent.  Similarly, Pulchra, a foe in Version 1.2, is confirmed as a playable unit in 1.6, though her rarity remains unconfirmed, with speculation pointing towards A-Rank.

Version 1.6 is shaping up to be a significant update, also introducing Silver Soldier Anby and Trigger, both expected to be S-Rank agents.  Whispers of a free character giveaway add to the excitement, although official confirmation is still pending.

The prospect of Hugo Vlad as a boss in 1.6 raises questions about his connection to the unfolding narrative.
