Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Shatters Concurrent Player Records on Steam

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has achieved a remarkable feat, breaking its own concurrent Steam player record for six days running. This accomplishment underscores the game's exceptional commercial performance since its release.

Developed by Warhorse Studios, the highly anticipated sequel launched on February 4th.  Even before its official release, the game showed promising signs of success, climbing the ranks of Steam's Top Sellers chart based on pre-orders alone.

Following its launch, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continued its reign, topping the Steam Top Sellers chart for six consecutive days. Data from SteamDB reveals the game's daily concurrent player count has set a new record each day of its first week.  On February 9th, the open-world RPG reached a peak of 256,206 concurrent players, securing its position among the top 50 most popular Steam games of all time, currently ranked 49th.

Early sales figures also paint a picture of success.  Warhorse Studios Creative Director Daniel Vávra confirmed that the game sold 1 million copies within the first 24 hours, achieving immediate profitability.  Estimates from various analytical platforms, including Gamalytic, PlayTracker, and VG Insights, suggest around 890,000 sales on Steam alone by February 9th. Considering PC sales often represent less than half of total sales for AAA titles, it's likely that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has already approached the 2 million sales mark.

Warhorse Studios has outlined its post-launch plans, aiming to sustain the game's momentum.  Three paid DLC packs are scheduled, beginning with "Brushes with Death" in summer 2025, followed by "Legacy of the Forge" in fall 2025, and "Mysteria Ecclesia" in winter 2025.

A free update preceding the paid DLCs will introduce exciting additions, including a horse racing mini-game, a Hardcore mode, and a barber feature, slated for release in spring 2025.
