Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza Patch Smooths Sailing for Treasure Hunters

The high seas adventure of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii just got smoother thanks to the newly released 1.12 update. This patch tackles several issues that previously troubled players, most notably a bug that prevented completion of a particularly tricky side quest.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza puts players in the shoes of Goro Majima, a Tojo Clan lieutenant turned pirate after a bout of amnesia leaves him stranded near Hawaii.  The game offers a blend of swashbuckling action, pirate clan battles, and treasure hunting, all with the signature Like a Dragon flair.

One of the game's side quests, a nod to 2023's Like a Dragon Gaiden, challenges players to find seven Golden Balls hidden throughout Honolulu and Madlantis.  A previous bug made locating one of these elusive treasures impossible, effectively blocking progress in the quest.  The 1.12 update rectifies this issue, allowing players to finally collect all seven Golden Balls and claim their reward.

Beyond the Golden Balls fix, the update also addresses other critical issues.  Players can now reliably save their game manually, preventing frustrating losses of progress.  A bug that plunged players into the ocean when loading a save file from a ship's bridge has also been resolved.  Further improvements include fixes for arcade game ranking saves, typographical errors, localization issues, and overall stability enhancements.

PC players will also benefit from specific fixes, including a remedy for a rare crash during resource loading.  While the developers continue to investigate another driver-related crash, they recommend switching to the 60 FPS graphical setting as a temporary workaround.

The complete list of fixes in the 1.12 update includes:

  • Resolved issue preventing acquisition of a specific Golden Ball.
  • Fixed manual saving issues at certain points in the game.
  • Corrected a bug causing players to fall into the ocean when loading saves from a ship's bridge.
  • Resolved issues with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza arcade game ranking saves.
  • Fixed various typographical errors and localization issues.
  • Addressed numerous stability and quality of life improvements.
  • PC Only: Fixed a rare crash occurring during resource loading.
  • PC Only: Investigating a random driver crash (recommend switching to 60 FPS setting as a workaround).
