Warhammer 40,000: Darktide's Nightmares & Visions Update Brings New Mode and More

Developer Fatshark has exciting news for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide players.  The free Nightmares & Visions update launches on March 25th, introducing a wealth of new content, including a brand new game mode.

Darktide delivers the chaotic co-op, first-person action that the Warhammer 40K franchise is known for, pitting players against hordes of enemies with a mix of melee and ranged combat.  While previous patches focused on resolving technical issues present at launch, Fatshark is now delivering on its promise of substantial content updates, with Nightmares & Visions being a key part of that plan.

The Nightmares & Visions update brings the new Mortis Trials game mode, a key feature teased in a recent video.  In Mortis Trials, players face waves of enemies in different visions, with opportunities to customize their playstyle through unique buffs and abilities specific to each trial. Successfully completing these trials will also reward players with valuable lore insights.

This update isn't just about new modes. Alongside Nightmares & Visions comes a limited-time special event centered around Mortis Trials. Details are scarce, but Fatshark promises more information soon.

Responding to community feedback, Fatshark is also revamping the Havoc mode.  Players can expect increased difficulty and a revised ranking system for this endgame challenge.  Further refinement is planned, with a detailed blog post outlining the changes expected shortly. The Ogryn talent tree is also receiving a rework, alongside adjustments to Ogryn weaponry, offering players greater build diversity and overall improvements.  A dedicated blog post detailing these changes will also be released by the end of the week.

Fatshark hints at even more additions coming with the Nightmares & Visions update, promising a steady stream of reveals in the weeks leading up to its March 25th release. With a new game mode, a limited-time event, and key improvements based on player feedback, there's plenty for Darktide players to anticipate.
