After years of exclusivity on Xbox and PC, Forza Horizon 5 is finally making its way to the PlayStation 5. This highly anticipated release, set for April 29, 2025, marks a significant moment for the franchise, opening the doors for a whole new community of racers.

Since its initial launch in 2021, Forza Horizon 5 has garnered significant praise, solidifying its position as a leading open-world racing title.  Playground Games has consistently maintained the game's vibrancy with regular content updates, keeping the Mexican landscape fresh and exciting for players.

Players who opt for the $99.99 Premium Edition will get a head start with four days of early access beginning April 25, 2025.  The standard edition is priced at $59.99.  While some might question the price considering the game's existing availability on other platforms, the opportunity to finally experience Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 is undoubtedly appealing to PlayStation users.

PlayStation 5 users can anticipate a high-performance experience, with the option to choose between a 60 FPS Performance Mode or a visually stunning 30 FPS Quality Mode featuring ray-traced car reflections. The PS5 Pro version is expected to further enhance these graphical features.  Furthermore, the inclusion of cross-platform multiplayer will allow PS5 racers to compete with friends and rivals on Xbox and PC.

Coinciding with the PS5 launch is a substantial update, Horizon Realms, arriving on April 25, 2025. This update will reintroduce 11 beloved Evolving World locations, such as the Stunt Park, Ice Rink, Neon Airstrip, and Retrowave Highway.  Adding to the excitement is the all-new Stadium Track, designed specifically for high-speed racing thrills.  Players can choose between two distinct modes: Skill Mode, focused on achieving high Skill Scores and climbing leaderboards, or Free Mode, offering a more relaxed experience for cruising and exploring the environments with friends without the pressure of competition.

Horizon Realms also introduces over 60 new challenges accessible through a dedicated Accolade tab.  These challenges offer opportunities to earn #Forzathon Points, exclusive badges, and four new reward cars: the 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto, 2023 Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, 2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430, and the 2022 Hennessey Mammoth 6x6.  This wealth of new content makes Horizon Realms one of the most anticipated updates for Forza Horizon 5.
