Overwatch 2 Mid-Season 15 Patch Introduces New Content and Hero Balance Changes

Overwatch 2 has released its mid-Season 15 patch, delivering a wealth of new content and adjustments for players to enjoy.  This update marks the second collaboration with LE SSERAFIM, introducing new skins for several heroes alongside returning favorites. A new Mythic weapon skin for Widowmaker adds a touch of elegance and lethality to the sniper's arsenal.

The update also builds anticipation for upcoming events. Players can look forward to trying out the new hero Freja starting March 21st, before her official release in Season 16.  Shortly after, on March 25th, a special Overwatch: Classic event will revisit the popular GOATS meta of September 2018, allowing players to experience this unique period in Overwatch history.

A key aspect of the mid-season patch is the extensive hero balance changes. Many heroes have received buffs to their Perks, aiming to improve their viability and create a more dynamic gameplay experience. Junker Queen, Roadhog, Brigitte, Genji, and Mei are just a few who have benefited from these adjustments.  Illari's Solar Rifle has also received a quality-of-life change, ensuring Quick Melee no longer interrupts its recharge.

While buffs dominated the balance changes, Bastion and Torbjorn received nerfs to address their overperformance. Bastion's Self-Repair Perk now has a resource meter, limiting its continuous use.  Torbjorn's Turret has seen reductions to its base health and damage, although the Craftsman Minor Perk can partially offset these changes.

The LE SSERAFIM collaboration offers vibrant new skins for D.Va, Ashe, Mercy, Illari, and Juno, providing players with stylish options for their favorite heroes.  Those who missed the previous collaboration can also earn the Legendary Fawksey James Junkrat skin through in-game challenges.

Widowmaker's new Mythic weapon skin, Dame Chance, is a standout addition. This evolving rifle boasts unique animations, UI elements, and sound effects, culminating in a stylish flourish where Widowmaker spins her Grappling Hook. This cosmetic is sure to appeal to fans of the deadly sniper.

The Overwatch: Classic GOATS event promises a nostalgic return to a defining meta in the game's history. The September 2018 hero balance, featuring the powerful combination of Moira, Brigitte, and Wrecking Ball, created the GOATS composition, emphasizing teamwork, sustain, and strategic ability usage.
