Critical Role is officially venturing into the interactive entertainment realm with a video game set in the expansive world of Exandria.  Following initial teases in late 2024, CEO Travis Willingham confirmed the project's existence in a recent interview with Business Insider, stating that the company is “hard at work” bringing Exandria to life in a new way.

While details remain scarce, Willingham hinted at an impending formal announcement, teasing fans with the promise of news "any day."  This announcement is expected to follow Critical Role's Exandria Wrap-Up show, adding another layer of excitement for the dedicated Critter community.

The upcoming game promises an immersive experience within Exandria, the world meticulously crafted by Dungeon Master and Chief Creative Officer Matthew Mercer.  Willingham described the project as an "interactive slate," where players will directly influence the narrative's trajectory.

“Players will actually be getting their hand on the stick and controlling the outcome of the story, changing what might be possible from not just some of their favorite characters, but new offerings in the world of Exandria,” Willingham elaborated. This suggests a story-driven experience potentially featuring both familiar faces and original storylines within the Exandria setting.

The game's genre remains undisclosed, but the focus on player agency and narrative impact hints at a potentially rich and engaging experience. The possibility of "what if" scenarios for established Exandria lore, alongside fresh adventures, further fuels anticipation.
