Genshin Impact 5.5: Quality of Life Improvements and New Event Spotlight
2025-03-13 17:55:42Genshin Impact continues to refine the player experience with a series of quality-of-life (QoL) adjustments planned for Version 5.5. While new characters often steal the spotlight, these updates to core game mechanics significantly enhance gameplay.
The arrival of two new Electro characters from Natlan, Varesa and Iansan, has been confirmed. Varesa is anticipated to be a five-star character, while Iansan will be a four-star.
The latest Developers Discussion has revealed a wealth of exciting changes coming to Genshin Impact. Among these are cross-scene quest tracking, improved boss guides, and adjustments to the artifact system, a frequent topic of player feedback. Farming artifacts is notoriously challenging due to the game's RNG layers, making perfect artifact acquisition a rare feat.
HoYoverse addressed these concerns by confirming that artifacts enhanced with the Sanctifying Elixir will now be marked with a special symbol in the next update. Furthermore, fully enhanced artifacts will guarantee at least two enhancements to the designated Minor Affixes.
While players welcome these improvements, many still desire further refinement to the artifact system. The Sanctifying Elixir remains a highly popular addition, simplifying the artifact enhancement process.
Genshin Impact Version 5.5 will introduce cross-scene quest tracking, a highly anticipated feature. This allows players to seamlessly track quests across different scenes, with the corresponding map automatically opening for direct teleportation.
Map improvements extend beyond quest tracking. New icons will pinpoint the entrances to boss arenas. Currently, only the general boss location is marked, which can be frustrating, especially for newer players trying to locate underground bosses. Version 5.5 will also add support for various PlayStation and Xbox controllers on Android devices, provided the device's operating system is updated to the required version.
Further details about Version 5.5 will be revealed during the Special Program live stream scheduled for March 14th. Stay tuned for more information!
