MLB The Show 25 Update 9: Key Changes and Improvements

2025-04-23 11:24:40

MLB The Show 25 has released its latest update, bringing a host of gameplay refinements and visual upgrades across its various modes. Dubbed Update 9, this MLB The Show 25 patch addresses several gameplay issues, introduces a major change to the popular Diamond Dynasty mode, and more—all designed to elevate the player experience.

As the 20th main entry in the franchise, MLB The Show 25 launched on March 18, marking its debut as a current-gen exclusive. Since its release, updates have been rolling out weekly, with a previous update making notable adjustments to Road to the Show and Diamond Dynasty—modes that this latest patch further refines.

MLB The Show 25 Update 9

Released on April 22, MLB The Show 25's Update 9 delivers fixes across multiple modes, including Diamond Dynasty, Road to the Show, and Franchise. Road to the Show now correctly applies the selected difficulty level, while Franchise mode features improved budgeting, with prorated salaries applied after mid-season trades. Additionally, the update resolves issues with the guess pitch feature, which is especially useful against MLB The Show 25's tricky submarine and sidearm pitchers.

One of the standout changes in MLB The Show 25 Update 9 is the adjustment to Diamond Dynasty, where the buy/sell order limit for player items rated 90-95 OVR has been raised from 500,000 to 750,000. This change facilitates higher-value trading and flipping for top-tier cards, though players will need to accumulate more Stubs to take full advantage. Fortunately, there are several ways MLB The Show 25 players can earn Stubs quickly.

With a strong initial reception and ongoing updates, MLB The Show 25 continues to evolve. However, one platform remains conspicuously absent from its lineup. While some sports titles have been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch 2, MLB The Show, EA Sports College Football, and Forza are still missing. Fans hope the game will make its way to the more powerful Switch 2 later this year.
