HoYoverse's turn-based RPG Honkai: Star Rail recently celebrated its second anniversary, rewarding players with 1,600 free Stellar Jades and a free limited 5-star character. From Version 3.2 to 3.4, players can select either Ruan Mei or Luocha. Now, a new leak suggests another free character will be available in Version 3.3.

A reliable leak by Tart confirms that Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.3 will include a free 4-star character selector. Players can choose between:

• Gallagher (Fire, Abundance)
• Misha (Ice, Destruction)
• Hanya (Physical, Harmony)
• Xueyi (Quantum, Destruction)

The selector is reportedly tied to the event Legend of the Galactic Baseballer: Departure, a returning battle event from the Penacony storyline. While previous updates have featured similar selectors, fans remain frustrated by the lack of new 4-star characters since Version 2.5.

The Growing Imbalance Between 4-Star and 5-Star Characters

With Castorice’s debut in Version 3.2, Honkai: Star Rail now has 45 5-star characters (including Trailblazer variants), compared to only 23 4-star units. The last new 4-star, Moze, was introduced in July 2024. This disparity led HoYoverse to update the Standard Banner by adding limited 5-stars, but players argue the 4-star roster lacks diversity, making the game less F2P-friendly.
