Executive Vice President of Koei Tecmo, Yosuke Hayashi, recently highlighted PlayStation's pivotal role in the creation of Rise of the Ronin, stating the project wouldn't have been possible without their support.  Head of Team Ninja, Fumihiko Yasuda, also provided insights into the PC release and the game's future.

Developed by Team Ninja, Rise of the Ronin was initially a PS5 exclusive, receiving praise for its immersive samurai experience set in 19th-century Japan. Players craft a unique character and navigate a world rich with period-specific weaponry, from katanas to firearms, exploring historical locales like Yokohama, Edo, and Kyoto alongside stunning rural landscapes.  The highly anticipated PC version launched on Steam on March 11th.

In an interview with RPG Site, Hayashi and Yasuda emphasized the invaluable contribution of PlayStation Studios, sharing how their expertise in accessibility and onboarding significantly benefited Team Ninja during the development leading up to the PS5 release.

Yasuda confirmed that player feedback from the PS5 version was instrumental in shaping the PC port, focusing on optimizing performance across diverse PC configurations to ensure a smooth and stable frame rate, crucial for enjoying the game's dynamic combat.  While the content remains unchanged, the team prioritized adapting the experience for PC players. Currently, there are no plans for DLC.

Despite its positive reception on PS5, the PC launch of Rise of the Ronin has encountered performance issues, with players reporting demanding system requirements for a satisfactory experience.  These issues have resulted in mixed reviews on Steam, requiring swift action from Team Ninja to rectify the situation.
