Genshin Impact 5.5 Livestream Reveals Natlan Characters and Potential New Region

Developer HoYoverse has announced the official date and time for the Genshin Impact Version 5.5 Special Program livestream.  Scheduled for March 14th at 8:00 AM (UTC-4), the livestream promises exciting reveals for the next update.

The upcoming livestream is highly anticipated as it will showcase two new characters, Varesa and Iansan, both hailing from the Pyro nation of Natlan.  The official announcement also mentions the Collective of Plenty, known as Teteocan, one of Natlan's six tribes, further suggesting a return to this fiery region.

Leaks suggest that Version 5.5 might introduce a new region within Natlan, potentially featuring the Great Volcano of Tollan.  This area is rumored to boast stunning environmental effects, possibly connected to a new World Quest, similar to Sumeru's pyramid or the mist on Tsurumi Island.

Viewers of the Special Program can also expect the usual distribution of three redemption codes, offering a total of 300 Primogems and other valuable in-game items.  These Primogems can be used to wish for the new characters or saved for future banners.

Varesa is predicted to be a 5-star character, while Iansan is expected to be a 4-star. While some players hoped for Iansan to be a 5-star, her 4-star rarity increases the likelihood of both characters appearing on the same banner, making it easier for players to acquire both.

HoYoverse typically introduces new characters in the first phase of an update, suggesting Varesa's banner will likely debut around March 26th and run for approximately three weeks.  There are also rumors of character reruns alongside Varesa, including Xilonen, Xianyun, and Venti.  However, these leaks should be considered with caution until confirmed during the Special Program.
