A recent blog post outlined the extensive changes arriving in Call of Duty: Warzone for Season 3. While Black Ops Cold War players can access the new season starting April 2nd, Warzone servers will be offline for 24 hours between April 2nd and 3rd for the return of Verdansk. This revamped version of the map boasts stunning new visuals and marks its return after a nearly three-and-a-half-year absence.
The Season 3 roadmap for Black Ops Cold War promises a wealth of content for players. Three new multiplayer maps are available at launch, including a remastered version of the iconic Firing Range from the original Black Ops. Barrage, a new 6v6 map set in 1968 Vietnam, centers around a Summit Watch post on the front lines. Nomad, another new 6v6 and 2v2 map, is located within the ruins of a fortified settlement in Afghanistan. Two additional maps and a Nuketown variant are scheduled for the mid-season update.
Leaks and rumors surrounding new weapons for Season 3 have been confirmed. Several iconic guns from the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot are making their way to the game. The CR-56 AMAX assault rifle and the HDR sniper rifle are included in the Season 3 Battle Pass. Players logging into Warzone during its 24-hour downtime on April 2nd will receive the Kilo 141 assault rifle. The Ladra SMG, Nail Gun, and Kali Sticks will be available through an in-season event. Additionally, players can acquire a Grau 5.56 conversion kit for the Swat 5.56, along with the Monolithic Suppressor, in the Season 3 Battle Pass.
Two new modes, Sharpshooter and Demolition, will also debut in Black Ops Cold War Season 3. Sharpshooter is a free-for-all party mode where everyone uses the same loadout, which changes every 45 seconds. Demolition tasks players with alternating between attacking and defending two bomb sites.
A new Zombies map, new perks, the return of the Death Machine scorestreak, and numerous bundles round out the Season 3 offerings for Black Ops Cold War. The new season promises substantial content for Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone players alike.
