Director and producer Naoki Yoshida recently revealed exciting details about the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.2 during a live stream.  Key features slated for this patch include the introduction of Cosmic Exploration for Crafters and Gatherers, and the commencement of the Shades' Triangle field operation.

This announcement follows closely on the heels of Patch 7.16, which concluded the Dawntrail Role Quest storyline and addressed several PvP balance issues and bug fixes. A minor text error in the 7.16 English client, displaying Japanese text during the Role Quest epilogue, has been acknowledged and is scheduled for correction in a future update.

The upcoming Patch 7.2 will bring the first installment of the Shades' Triangle field operation, known as the Occult Crescent. Yoshida hinted at the involvement of Support Jobs, reminiscent of those in previous Final Fantasy titles, within these operations.

Furthermore, Yoshida advised players to pay close attention to battle pacing in 7.2, as additional on-screen elements may not be reflected in the standard buff/debuff tracker. The development team has also finalized plans for the game's seventh Ultimate raid, though specifics remain undisclosed. This challenging encounter is expected to launch during the Dawntrail patch cycle.

Players can anticipate more detailed information regarding Patch 7.2, including its official name and release date, during the 85th 'Letter from the Producer Live' broadcast on February 7th.  This broadcast promises to shed more light on the exciting content wave coming to Final Fantasy XIV.
